Soumba and Kanda Are Starting to Grow Up!

Soumba and Kanda are baby chimpanzees who became orphans when their parents were hunted and killed to be sold in a market as meat. If these little chimps hadn’t been rescued from wildlife traders, they might be in China or the Middle East now.

Instead, they’re receiving veterinary care and a lot of love at the Chimpanzee Conservation Center (CCC) in Guinea, which is a member of PASA.

These two chimps are starting to grow up quickly! They’re becoming friends with other chimps who live at the Chimpanzee Conservation Center, learning to climb in trees, and acquiring other natural chimp behaviors. These photos show their progress.
