The Parc de la Lékédi is an impressive 14,000 hectares of paradise where many species of flora and fauna flourish. Primates, including chimpanzees, gorillas, mandrills and monkeys all share the savanna and forest of this park.
The principle objective of the Parc de la Lékédi is the preservation of biodiversity. The park contains a Rehabilitation center for primates. Orphaned chimpanzees, gorillas and monkeys from across Gabon are saved and reintroduces back intor their natural habitat when they are ready.
Another important objective of the park is providing an understanding of the need to protect the environment. One of the ways this is achieved is by ecotourism. As a results this area welcomes many (human) visitors each year.
