Sully is clinging to life. He’s only four weeks old, malnourished, and orphaned. He was being kept in secret as an illegal pet. He didn’t have the food, warmth, or care that he needs to live. Thankfully, he was just rescued by Lilongwe Wildlife Trust, a PASA member in Malawi, before it was too late.
The amazing vets and rehabilitation staff at Lilongwe are giving Sully the round-the-clock care he needs to make it through the night. But, Sully needs your help right now if he’s going to recover.
Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is working towards a future where every wild animal in Malawi is free from human-inflicted suffering. Each individual counts, and our award-winning rescue and rehabilitation projects offer a lifeline to orphaned victims of wildlife crime or human-wildlife conflict. Internationally renowned as one of Africa’s best sanctuaries, we are the only wildlife rehabilitation facility in Malawi. We are currently home to almost 200 rescued wild animals.
Malawi is known for its friendly people and beautiful places but poverty, deforestation and wildlife crime have put the nation’s wildlife under immense pressure. The ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ is also Southern Africa’s principal transit hub for the trafficking of illicit wildlife products, which threatens some of the region’s most iconic species such as elephants with extinction.
Lilongwe Wildlife Centre works tirelessly to safeguard Malawi’s wildlife and empower the guardians of the wild. We have a vision for each of the 4 areas we work within: wildlife rescue and welfare, education and advocacy, conservation justice, and biodiversity research.
Your donation will be processed by the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA), of which Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is a member. PASA is registered in the United States as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are fully tax-deductible for U.S. taxpayers.
