DONATE TO LILONGWE WILDLIFE CENTRE

Pretzel suffered from a severe calcium deficiency while she was kept as a pet. Her crooked bones made it difficult for the tiny baboon to even move. Lilongwe Wildlife Centre was able to rescue her and bring her to the sanctuary. They provided immediate medical care to Pretzel, and she is beginning to recover with the help of calcium supplements and devoted caretakers.

Pretzel has been thriving thanks to the dedicated work of her caretakers. She loves having bowls of milk and always licks her bowl clean. Right now, Pretzel needs you to provide plenty of food to overcome her malnutrition.

Malawi is known for its friendly people and beautiful places but poverty, deforestation and wildlife crime have put the nation’s wildlife under immense pressure. The ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ is also Southern Africa’s principal transit hub for the trafficking of illicit wildlife products, which threatens some of the region’s most iconic species such as elephants with extinction.

Lilongwe Wildlife Centre works tirelessly to safeguard Malawi’s wildlife and empower the guardians of the wild. We have a vision for each of the 4 areas we work within: wildlife rescue and welfare, education and advocacy, conservation justice, and biodiversity research.
